How the home sampling kit works
Everything you need to know about Genderscreen’s home sampling
01
What is Genderscreen?
Genderscreen is a home test to find out whether you’re expecting a girl or a boy. You collect a blood sample yourself from your arm using a special, painless device. The sample is sent to our laboratory in Sweden, and you receive the result digitally.
02
When can I take the test?
You can take the test from pregnancy week 10+0.
03
How does the sampling work?
The self-sampling device uses HALO technology with microneedles thinner than an eyelash, making the procedure painless. The device is placed on the upper arm and, with the press of a button, blood is collected into the sample tube within just a few minutes.
Watch the instruction video if you want to see how the sampling works.
04
How does the analysis work?
Small fragments of fetal DNA circulate in the mother’s bloodstream. By taking a blood sample from the pregnant woman, this DNA can be analyzed. If the analysis detects Y chromosomes – which are only found in male fetuses – the fetus is a boy. If no Y chromosomes are found, the fetus is a girl.
Reliability: The analysis is 99% accurate
05
What does the kit include?
– Sampling device, sample tube, and other sampling materials
– Instructions
– Return packaging
06
How does the transport work?

Important: The sample must be sent to the laboratory the same day it is collected, so that the lab can start analyzing the blood in time.
07
When and how do I get my result?
You will receive your result within 7 business days from when the laboratory receives your sample.
The result is sent via email. It is opened securely with a QR code and presented as a Gender Reveal video.
