A heating pad is placed on your arm. You then take a sample yourself using the sampling device provided. The sampling is completely painless. The needles are thinner than a hair and the device takes about 0.5 ml of blood. The blood sample is then sent to a laboratory in Sweden for analysis. You will receive the results within a few days. Yes, the Genderscreen home sex determination test is safe for both you and your baby. It is a maternal blood test and does not risk any harm to the mother or foetus. The test is simple and safe to use. All products in the test kit are CE marked and approved for self-sampling or sampling by a helper.
Approximately 1 in 200 will need to provide a new sample. Sampling is successful in 98% of cases.
If the sampling is unsuccessful or if the laboratory cannot provide a result, we will send out a new sample kit at no extra cost or you can get your money back.
